Mr Rabih El Haddad, Director of the Multilateral Diplomacy Division of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), signs a Memorandum of Understanding on Monday 3 February with H.E. Michel Veuthey, Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to monitor and combat trafficking in persons, to jointly organise courses on trafficking in human beings. With this agreement, both entities expect to expand their cooperation in addressing the issues of human trafficking through training on:
a. Capacity building and awareness-raising initiatives on trafficking in human beings; b. Empowermentandskillsdevelopmentforsurvivors;
c. Training of trainers for law enforcement officials and community leaders;
d. Rehabilitationandreintegrationframeworkforsurvivors.
After the signing, Ambassador Michel Veuthey and Mr. Rabih El-Haddad discussed the first phase of the cooperation, which includes the organisation of a side event at the Palais des Nations on March 28, 2025, during the 58th session of the Human Rights Council.
