This year marks the XXVIIth Children Victims of Violence, Exploitation and Indifference Against Pedophilia Day, celebrated from April 25 to the first Sunday in May.

Knowledge of abuse, when it emerges from oblivion, from silence, from the courage of victims, presupposes, for those who tell, the certainty of being heard and welcomed.

It provokes outrage, sadness, a sense of frustration and an unrelenting demand for justice. Abuse is not only an exclusive and tragic fatality of events, but can be the result of the culture of domination and overpowering, excessive eroticization and sexual perversion, which do not spare even children, making them objects of enjoyment and satisfaction.

“Inexhaustible Commitment!” is the theme that will characterize the prayer times, activities and initiatives related to the Day.

Twenty-seventh Children Victims DayCommit, act, advocate, prevent and inform. Creating serene, safe and certain points of reference to which one can turn is an antidote and a possibility of being freed from these new forms of slavery, even on the web. To engage is already to decide which side to be on: the Church and Society must not and cannot stand by and watch. Crying, while essential for processing grief, is not enough.

Meter for 30 years has stepped into this unspeakable evil to give hope and support. You, too, can make a relentless commitment.
