The event, <em>titled &#8220;After 25 Years of the Palermo Protocol: The Need for Real Action That Makes a Difference,&#8221;<\/em> highlighted the ongoing challenges in combating human trafficking. This was the first step of the new collaboration between the Order of Malta and UNITAR established on February 3<sup>rd<\/sup>, 2025. This partnership will take the form of an online course on human trafficking, set to launch between mid-January and mid-February 2026. The event gathered high-level speakers as :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>H.E Ambassador Michel Veuthey, Sovereign Order of Malta<\/li>\n<li>Mr. Rabih El-Haddad, Director of UNITAR&#8217;s Multilateral Diplomacy Division<\/li>\n<li>H.E. Ambassador Prof. Muhammad M.O KAH, Permanent Representative of the Republic of The Gambia to the United Nations office in Geneva<\/li>\n<li>Mrs. Reem Alsalem, United Nations Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women and Girls<\/li>\n<li>H.E.
