Many Syrian refugee women are unemployed and thus face higher risks of gender-based violence. Malteser International is supporting a women&#8217;s center in Kilis specifically devoted to empowering Syrian refugee women in Turkey. The center offers a range of services to women, including language courses, vocational training and psychosocial assistance. <strong>We believe in equality through education and skills acquisition. <\/strong>Since the beginning of the civil war, Malteser International has been working with local partners inside Syria to provide lifesaving humanitarian assistance, improved water and sanitation, and urgent medical care for children, women, and displaced families.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.malteser-international.org\/en\/our-work\/middle-east\/iraq\/rebuilding-schools.html\">Iraq<\/a>, Malteser International, with funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), is supporting partner organization <em>People in Need<\/em> in their reconstruction efforts in the Ninewa region, including rebuilding schools while providing learning material for school children. Teachers undergo training on dealing with children traumatized by the conflict and violence. De nombreuses femmes r\u00e9fugi\u00e9es syriennes sont sans emploi et sont donc expos\u00e9es \u00e0 des risques plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s de violence sexiste. Malteser International soutient un centre pour femmes \u00e0 Kilis qui se consacre sp\u00e9cifiquement \u00e0 l&#8217;autonomisation des femmes syriennes r\u00e9fugi\u00e9es en Turquie. Le centre offre une gamme de services aux femmes, notamment des cours de langue, une formation professionnelle et une assistance psychosociale. <strong>Nous croyons en l&#8217;\u00e9galit\u00e9 par l&#8217;\u00e9ducation et l&#8217;acquisition de comp\u00e9tences<\/strong>.
